"What People Are Saying About Us and Our Program!"
|
|
"It was always a fantasy of mine to take a Martial Arts class with my daughter. I was thrilled when she came home, having heard about it from her friend, asking if we could do it together. The pace is perfect for both of us (very young and very old)!"
- Mark R.

"Kris is a great martial arts teacher for kids. She has taught my 2 sons and they have made great progress. She teaches them discipline and to focus on performing the correct techniques."

"I really like Pu Sa Bum Nim's positive and firm attitude with the kids and parents. I joined to help encourage my daughter's involvement in an organized activity (she has quit everything I've ever put her in). But I have found myself really enjoying the class. And my daughter loves it! I feel like it really is an activity where I can release stress and focus on my body and health. My son is in Mighty Mights as well... we are working with him on just standing still for 1 minute...but I think the structure and self discipline taught in this program is really good for him. I hope to make this an activity our entire family can embrace and enjoy for a lifetime."

"I am 44 years old and started Kuk Sool about 4-5 weeks ago. I run 4-5 times a week and suffer the typical leg soreness that comes with running. I started Kuk Sool about 4 weeks ago and I noticed from the first day how much better my body felt after class. The warm up stretches combined with the martial arts movements leaves me feeling very relaxed. The complex movements that you learn over time are also beneficial for your mental health. Your brain gets a workout just like your body. The environment is not competitive at all and the higher ranking students are more than willing to help me out and give me direction when needed. I recommend Kuk Sool and specifically Menlo Park Kuk Sool to anyone who wants to learn a martial art that seems to incorporate a broad range of movements and techniques."

"Best of luck and skill to all the kids participating at the tournament this weekend. I loved your message to them: try your best, hope you do your best ever, but if not, do what you as best you can, and mistakes aren't the end of the world. Being there, making new friends, trying hard are the prizes. Thanks for encouraging best efforts, taking risks, and progress, not perfection. You are a bright light."

"Kris came to my Girl Scout troop meeting and the girls LOVED it. I have 14 Kindergarten girls in the troop and we were working on the "Courageous and Strong" badge. The girls all got to break a wood board. They were shocked that they were strong enough to break it. Kris kept it so much fun and unbeat and really helped instill confidence in the girls."

"Chief Instructor, Kristin Quintana, Pu Sa Bum Nim, has a natural talent for teaching Kuk Sool Won, especially for kids. She phrases things in such a way that encourages students, even the easily distractable ones, to perform and act in a positive manner. Also, I admire her because she is very community-minded. She always assists those who need a little extra help. She definitely is a postive role model for her students."

"Our daughter has become much more confident as she has moved along in the Kuk Sool Won program. She has begun to believe in herself as a child who is able to achieve goals she has established for herself - and all the while having fun while challenging herself!!"
- Paul D.

"Kuk Sool Won values respectful treatment of others. Every action has a proper and respectful way of being done. This is emphasized in every class, with a firm, but not judgemental, manner. KSW also requires mental discipline as well as physical expertise. This is an excellent preparation for any life activity."

"(My son) took his favorite toy, that he sleeps with, called a sugar glider, like a squirrel, and put yellow tape around his middle. Then, as I went to kiss him good night, he did Ki Bohn Soo number 5 on my hand. It is so lovely how important this is to him. And there aren't many other people, besides for (my husband), who could appreciate how nice that is... Thanks again for all your great teaching and kindness!"
